Technically, I’ve been copywriting since the 3rd grade.

It started with entering Sports Illustrated for Kids caption contests in the late 90s, and evolved into a college internship writing newsletters for Victors & Spoils.

After college, I spent 5 years working in sales for Justin’s (the Boulder-based peanut butter company). Supplementing my role in sales, I routinely wrote brand copy for social media posts and customer comms. I also learned the art of direct-response language to drive sales. We sold so much peanut butter that we were acquired for $286 million.

I didn’t become a millionaire, but I was able to go full Kerouac and enjoy a yearlong escapade in South America, where I became fluent in Spanish and a master of cooking patacones.

Once back in the USA, I became an agency copywriter, splitting time mostly between my hometown of Denver, Colorado, and the town I truly love: Medellín, Colombia.
